A Recurring Pattern

This morning he is doing okay—no seizures, ate half his milk from a bottle (Which is really good, because he is pretty heavily drugged and also worn out), and is resting comfortably. Kelly is up there with him, while William is off at K-Pod (our school co-op).

But over the weekend we saw what has come to be a recurring pattern. He has seizures, they give him new drugs, or a new mix of drugs, or new dosages of drugs, then the seizures go away. Then he is fine for a while (a day or several days), but then the seizures “breakthrough” the drugs. So they have to start the process all over again. Very much trial and error. So in many ways, this is the primary issue we are dealing with—getting his seizures under control. Because we can’t really resolve anything else until we do this.

So please pray that our little boy’s seizures would stop. Pray that the doctors would have wisdom is making the right choices about the treatment for the seizures. Pray that we might find a specialist who might be able to assist our local doctors in John’s treatment. Pray for the peace of our family while watch our son go through this—we are not very good at up and down, back and forth, two steps forward/one step backward progress. We’d much prefer , “Oh, this problem is solved, let’s move on to the next.” But that is not what God has in store for us right now, so please pray that we would glorify Him in our submission to His will regarding the situation we face.
