Dear Bill, Kelly, William and Baby John,
Thank you for the updates and the testimony of your lives to the glory of God! We pray for you all continually. We wish we could give you a great big hug and see baby John with our own eyes. We are with you in spirit.
I came across this illustration from Donald Grey Barnhouse:
(He) tells a story about a little girl that he led to Christ while he was a student in France. She would often come to his family’s house, and there she observed them pulling promises from their “promise box” for family devotions. The promise box has some 200 passages written on little scrolls of paper. Whever anyone in the family was feeling discouraged, he or she would pull out one of the promises. The little French girl was so impressed that she made her own promise box and used it through the years with her own children. She told Dr. Barnhouse about how the Lord used that box during World War II. Her family had no food except potato peelings from a restaurant. Her emaciated children were begging her for something to eat. Their clothes were rags and their shoes were worn through. In desperation, she took out her promise box and prayed, “Lord, O Lord, I have such a great need. Is there a promise here that is really for me? Show me, O Lord, what promise I can have in this time of famine, nakedness, peril and sword.” She was so blinded by her tears that when she reached for the box, she knocked it over and ll the promises cascaded around her. In a moment, she knew that the Lord had answered her prayer, saying, “All my promises are for you in your hour of greatest need.”
May you know that ALL of God’s promises are for you and your covenant children in this hour of great need!
We love you,
John, Kim, Will, Luke and Cole

Bill, Kelly, William and John,
We have learned about your precious John from our daughter, Rebecca Milling. Please know that you have prayer warriors here in Greenwood, S.C. covering your family with prayer. It is so encouraging to read your last journal entry. Yours is a strong witness and a great faith as you “approach the throne of grace with confidence, so you may receive mercy and find grace to help you in your time of need.” You are a beautiful family. We will always remember and be grateful to you for your kindnesses to our loved ones. Our prayers will continue for all of you.
God Bless You,
Jim and Karla Cox

Dear Bill, Kelly & William,
The Mac Clan is praying for each of you and especially for your baby John. We love him already and we haven’t met him yet. We pray for God to give you strength and patience as you endure your NICU stint and that John will soon be home with you. We are praying with you every inch of the way. Thank you so much for regularly updating us. It’s very helpful in knowing specifically how to pray.

Again, please let us know what we can do to make it easier for you all to be there with John as much as is possible.

We love you.

Praying in hope and expectation,
Lisal

Bill and Kelly,
Our kids are memorizing a portion of Psalm 105, and I thought of your family with verses 1-5:
“Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.”
Our love and prayers are with you.

We are so thrilled to see the wonderful pictures of your beautiful baby. He is such a marvel! We are praying for John’s little body: his brain, lungs, heart, liver, bowels. We also pray that God sustains you with his strength as you live through tremendous ups and downs throughout each and every day. He is a beautiful baby and we pray for his chance to come home with you.

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs–heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” — Romans 8:16-18
Dear Peacocks, in the midst of your suffering we wish you peace, comfort, and joy today as we all set our minds on the great glory that is to come.

Dearest William, Kelly, Bill,
You are in our thoughts and prayers every day. I wish we could be more physically present–I have longed to be up with you Kelly, but sickness and, well, kids! have kept me here. My heart is with you, we grieve and struggle with you, all the while still rejoicing that God made John and loves him and has for him an infinitely perfect purpose. We strive with you to cling to the LORD in faith, in hope, in love. Kelly–I’m sending you a hug through cyberspace. Hopefully soon I can give a real one.

Dear Kelly and Bill,

First I want to congratulate you on such a beautiful
new addition to your family. He is a beautiful baby and I know William loves being a big brother and can not wait until John can come home. I am so sorry for you and your family that you are going through such a tough time when it should be a time for only celebration. I know God is with you and along with the great knowledge of the medical field I know he will be just fine. You are in our thoughts and prayers and know if at any time you need anything please don’t hesitate to ask. Our home is always open to you and know that our family will have you in their prayers.

We know that your days are full and your nights are weary. We pray each day from Bailey’s prayer book for little John and for each of you. We love you and wish that we could wrap our arms around you and impart God’s grace to you in a physical way. Know you are in our fervency!
Love, Suzy (for all)

PS – Bailey has been wanting to send you a homeade book to comfort you. She is eager to finish it, so hopefully it will be in the mail soon.
